Saturday 2/2 was Contest #3 of the City of Chicago Math League (CCML) for the 2018-19 season. Solorio retained the #1 citywide standing for the Division C schools, increasing our cumulative lead for the season to 95 points.
Individual Awards on Saturday, Feb 2:
Algebra I
1st place - Andy Tejeda and Saul Alvarez were part of a 5-way tie
2nd place – Julian Vargas
Geometry
1st place – Kevin Zamora
3rd place – Isabella Iniguez
Precalculus
2nd place – Steve Guzman
Steve Guzman had a 4-year personal best on Saturday, scoring an outstanding 14 against the toughest competition in the city from Kenwood Academy.
Team Awards
1st place – Algebra I and Geometry
2nd place – Precalculus
3rd place – Algebra II
Solorio also had the second highest score citywide on the optional Math Video Contest; only Jones College Prep had a higher video score than Solorio! Congratulations to Andy Tejeda and Kevin Zamora for their Freshman/Sophomore video, and to Steve Guzman, Jose Renteria and Jesus Renteria for their senior video.
Contest #4 is only 4 weeks away. Pressure is on!
